Homemade Golden Cashew Creme`
This delicious golden cashew creme` is made with just 4 ingredients. Perfect as a dip, or to add over corn chips, or use as a luscious pasta sauce base, or my favorite is to mix with coconut milk to make a rich and creamy curry base. Filled with the goodness of turmeric (one of my favorite spices) and nutritional yeast this is certainly one of those recipes that are best eaten from the jar! Turmeric is a well known spice for all the benefits it brings such as,
- A powerful natural anti-inflammatory
- Strengthening the immune system
- Helps in regulating digestion
- Promoting joint mobility and flexibility
- Leading to vascular improvement lowering the risk of heart disease
- Boosting cognitive function, linked to a lower risk of degenerative brain conditions
- Easing pain
- May assist with delaying aging
This easy Homemade Golden Cashew Creme` blender recipe is,
- Raw
- Vegan
- Gluten-free
- Quick
- Full of turmeric goodness
We need,
2 Cups Raw Shelled Cashews, soaked for 6 – 8 hours
1/2 – 3/4 Cup Nutritional Yeast
3/4 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (I used an organic one from here)
1 – 1.5 Cups Water
1/2 Teaspoon Salt (optional)
Directions,
Mix the soaked cashews, nutritional yeast and turmeric in a blender jar.
Add in the water in half cup increments and blend until smooth. Scrape down the sides as required to get a smooth and silky consistency. I used my Breville Boss blender which is quite powerful and needed only 5 minutes (click here to get this).
Blend salt in at this stage if using and process until well mixed. I tend to not add salt during the blending stage but rather sprinkle some pink or black salt on top if using as a dip or mix into the gravy/ sauce base.
Transfer the cashew creme` to a clean container with a tight and spill proof lid. (I used a glass jar.)
Store up to a week in the fridge…. if it lasts that long!
